Welcome to Ruanui Station!
Since 2020, we’ve been showcasing our luxurious soft lambs' wool to the world, from the hills of Taihape to homes across the globe. Our range of 100% NZ made products are crafted exclusively from wool grown on our farm, in the Central North Island. Each product is an heirloom piece, designed to be treasured for future generations to come. We are incredibly proud of bringing natures wonder fibre of wool back into everyday lives, one blanket at a time!
Our Story
We are a large farming station situated in the hills west of Taihape in the North Island of New Zealand, the majestic volcano Mount Ruapehu sits as our back drop. Ruanui is at an altitude of 1800 ft and lies across the volcanic plateau of rich soils, formed centuries ago.
Our Process
The ewes at Ruanui Station are shorn twice yearly to ensure their health and wellbeing. Shorn ewes are more active than those in full fleece, and exercise improves maternal health in late pregnancy. The lambs, born in Spring, are shorn alongside their mothers in January.
